The Science
What Exactly Is Moissanite?
Moissanite was first discovered in 1893, inside a meteorite crater — a gemstone that had quite literally fallen from the sky. It proved far too rare to mine. So science learned to grow it.
Today, each stone is created in controlled laboratory conditions over several weeks, then cut and polished by hand exactly as a diamond would be. The result isn't an imitation of anything. It's a genuine gemstone with its own properties — and on the two that matter most, it doesn't just compete with a diamond. It wins.
